Position Overview: Mystic Ridge Resort, nestled in the picturesque Ocho Rios, Jamaica, is
seeking a dynamic and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and
Grounds operations of our prestigious property. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of
technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of facility
management. The Facilities Manager will report directly to the Property Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Leadership: Lead and manage the maintenance and grounds staff,
ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Provide guidance, support,
and mentorship to team members to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
2. Facilities Maintenance: Conduct regular walkthroughs of the resort facilities to identify
maintenance issues, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely resolution. This includes but is
not limited to electrical, plumbing, landscaping, carpentry, and general maintenance
tasks which the post holder will be required to complete as well as supervise.
3. Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, equipment,
and materials, to optimize maintenance and security operations while adhering to
budgetary constraints.
4. Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed for
specialized maintenance and repair projects, ensuring quality workmanship and
cost-effectiveness.
5. Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present weekly reports to the Property
Manager and Executive Board Members, highlighting key maintenance activities,
achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions. Attend all Board meetings to provide
updates on facilities-related matters and contribute insights for strategic
decision-making.
6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and
safety standards to uphold the safety and well-being of guests, staff, and visitors.
Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and
prolong the lifespan of resort facilities and equipment.
Qualifications:
? Supervisory experience in landscaping and facilities management
? Proven experience in facilities management, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory
role.
? Technical knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and
general maintenance tasks is preferred
? Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and
inspire teams.
? Proficiency in resource allocation, and vendor/contractor coordination.
? Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and safety protocols related to facility
management.
? Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and practices are desirable.
