Lab AnalystENVIROLAB located in Montego Bay, St James is seeking to fill the position of Lab Analyst. The Lab Analyst will perform chemical, biological and bacteriological analysis of water/wastewater to ensure efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment operations. Performs other related work as required. This classification requires basic and advanced knowledge of water and wastewater analysis and procedures. The Lab Analyst reports to the Lab Manager and will be required to work under little or no supervision. Qualification and Requirements: Knowledge Of: • Chemistry and microbiology as applied in a water or wastewater treatment laboratory. • Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques, principles, terminology, equipment, and materials. • Analytical procedures used in testing water and wastewater and the mathematics used to obtain results. • Quality assurance and quality control procedures used in the laboratory • Microsoft Office and basic computer aptitude. • General principles and procedures of wastewater treatment, wastewater collection and water system. • Safe work practices in a water and wastewater laboratory environment. Qualification * Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Analytical chemistry /Chemistry or related field. * One year experience performing analytical tests in a water, wastewater and food laboratory. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Meticulous, with the ability to work on own initiative within a demanding environment Applications can be emailed to: envirolabjamaicaw.i@ gmail.com
