Accounting Officer

Location: National Administrative Office – Old Harbour, St. Catherine Reports To: Chief Accountant Job Summary Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the Accounting Officer supports the Accounts department in executing general accounting procedures, management of accounts payables and receivables, bank reconciliations, preparation of payroll and any other function in keeping with acceptable accounting standards and regulatory guidelines. Key Competencies Sound knowledge of general accounting procedures Sound knowledge of payroll systems and calculations, statutory deductions and filing of returns via Tax Administration of Jamaica’s online platform Sound knowledge of accounts receivables and payables Sound knowledge of SAGE Peachtree accounting software Sound knowledge of inventory management Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Access, Word, Excel) Good Interpersonal and Communication skills Great eye for details and good analytical skills Have excellent time management skills THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD: Possess an Associate Degree in Accounting or related field Have at least two (2) years’ experience in Accounting Be a christian Submission of Applications Suitable qualified applicants are asked to submit their application and resume to [email protected] no later than July 31, 2023 at 4: 00 p.m. Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.
