PROFESSIONAL HOUSEKEEPER

Kingston | Full-Time | Live-In Job Description: Compassionate and dedicated Live-In Housekeeper with strong background in housekeeping and food preparation. Responsible for all essential household tasks while also providing assistance and support to an elderly family member on an as-needed basis. This is a semi-professional position that is physically demanding and requires strong inter-personal and organizational skills. Responsibilities: - Must love dogs. 2 large dogs live in the house and are personal companions - Maintain clean, organized household for family of 3 adults (one of whom is elderly). Duties include cleaning, laundry, and general housekeeping. - Prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for the family according to dietary requirements and preferences. Menu planning, inventory management and preparation of weekly shopping lists is required. - Assist with appointments and errands, including arranging transportation for the elderly family member. - Provide attentive, compassionate care to elderly family member, including assistance with daily living activities as needed. - Ensure safety and well-being of elderly family member. - Oversee administration of prescribed medications to elderly family member as directed. If required, enrollment in a practical nursing course will be provided. - Keep accurate records of daily activities of elderly family member, health status, and any changes in their condition Qualifications & Skills: - High school diploma or equivalent - Occupational training in housekeeping and food preparation - Excellent communication skills - Strong Organizational skills - Willingness to enroll in and complete practical nursing course if required - Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare a plus - Food handler permit a plus Benefits: - On-site accommodation provided - Meals included - All Sundays and alternate Saturdays off - Paid public holidays - Opportunity for professional development through practical nursing course and on-the job training TO APPLY: Males or females may apply.
